Every woman appreciates a good-looking scruffy guy, but let’s be honest—sometimes, there’s a fine line between looking scruffy and looking like you just don’t care. Guys, if you want to go a few days without shaving and want to avoid looking a little too grungy, check out our tips for pulling off the perfect scruff look.
Tip #1: Always keep your skin looking good: Avoid walking around with greasy-looking skin this summer and keep that oil under control. Anthony Skincare’s Deep Pore Cleansing Clay is great for normal to oily skin and uses ingredients like Kaolin and Bentonite Clays to absorb oil from the skin. Apricot Kernal Oil and Calendula soften and soothe your skin to protect it from over-drying while Vitamins A, C and E protect against free radicals. Keep your skin further protected with Anthony’s Oil Free Facial Lotion with SPF 30. This lightweight moisturizer will keep your skin looking healthy with Sodium PCA, antioxidants and Silk Amino Acids.
Tip #2: Keep your hair groomed, no matter what the length: Guys are lucky because they can rock unwashed hair a little easier than women, but there’s potential to look a little unkempt if done incorrectly. If you’re experimenting with longer hair, keep it neat with the help of a little product. Jack Black’s newest Wax Pomade is perfect for taming hair and controlling frizz for the ultimate, I-woke-up-like-this look. Hair will be left with natural-looking shine and flexible hold. There is still much debate over man-buns, but if you do go for it, keep it pulled back neatly and comb any flyaway hairs back.
Tip #3: Avoid becoming the ultimate McScruff: There’s nothing wrong with skipping a few days of shaving or experimenting with the idea of facial hair, but don’t let things get out of control. Use mustache scissors to trim down unruly, longer hair and make sure you moisturize the areas where you have hair growing so the skin doesn’t itch and flake. Moisturizing your facial hair will make it easier for you if you decide to fully grow a beard or goatee. While we’re on the topic of scruff, keep your ears and nose hairs under control, too.
When it comes to keeping scruff in style, our own Dani Agrums’ boyfriend does it well. He even manages to pull off the much-debated man bun. Looking good, Garrett!
