Guys, if you’re currently using one of Layrite’s Grooming products, there’s a new jar in town that you may have to try. While most of you have gotten used to using whatever pomade was recommended in the barber chair, it doesn’t hurt to try something new. Check out what’s new in Layrite and see if you’re using the right pomade for your desired style.
While high shine, high hold pomade can be perfect for some styles, sometimes it’s good to have some options. Layrite finally has that high hold, matte product everyone’s been asking for. Layrite Cement Hair Clay is high-hold and water-based like the popular pomades except it’s completely matte. This intense matte finish will last all day and is perfect for shaping, thickening and creating dry, messy textured styles with extreme fullness and definition without heavy buildup. Let’s face it, some clay products are just impossible to remove from hair, so Layrite’s Clay is really a game-changer. I thought I would out this product to the test, so I had my own boyfriend try it out and the results were great. His hair looked full but did not appear stiff or sticky like other clays. Even his stubborn salt and pepper hair stayed in place all day long.
The best way to use Cement is to work it thoroughly into the palm of your hands until the product is soft. Apply through hair with quick strokes to distribute it evenly. While you can apply it on damp hair, just remember the drier your hair is, the better it will work to hold your hair and keep it looking as matte as possible.
If you’ve never used any of Layrite’s pomades, here’s a breakdown on what’s available at Planet Beauty:
Layrite Original Pomade: All day hold with a medium shine.
Layrite Super Hold Pomade: High hold for sculpting and creating high elevation styles. Shine depends on wetness or dryness of hair.
Layrite Super Shine Pomade: The highest shine with a similar hold to the original pomade.
