Getting married? Check out our Bridal Beauty Checklist

It’s the start of wedding season and if you’ve recently gotten engaged, then you know how much work goes into planning. With endless appointments for venues, catering, music and of course—the dress, wedding planning can be a tad stressful. Having a beauty checklist for your big day can help ease some of the stress to make sure you look your best and have one less thing to worry about.

1. Keep your hair trimmed: Even if you plan on wearing an updo for your wedding day, you don’t want to risk having dry, split ends making your hair look frayed and unhealthy. Visit your salon every 6-8 weeks and get those ends trimmed. If you’re trying to grow your hair out, this will help the process along, too. Ask your stylist about hair treatments that will help your hair look its best.

2. Leave your brows to the professionals:  For the next year, months or weeks, put the tweezers down and leave your brows to a trusted professional. We have all committed eyebrow mistakes and the last thing you need in your life is a little “oops” days before your wedding.  Also, if you plan to try a new method of hair removal, do it weeks in advance in case it doesn’t agree with your delicate skin. No need for redness or breakouts on your big day.

3. Keep consistent nail appointments: This one’s mainly for your own relaxation, but it’s also good to have someone professional watching out for your nails, cuticles and unwanted calluses. You don’t want to run off to your honeymoon with rough feet, right?

The Season's Changed and so should your Skincare Routine

If you've noticed a change in your skin the last couple of weeks, you're not alone. The weather is slowly warming up with the changing season and that means it's time to re-evaluate your skincare products. Are you ready to spring clean your skincare routine? Follow these tips to keep your skin looking healthy.

1. Keep your skin hydrated and happy: When it's cold out, we tend to crank up the heat, causing our skin to feel dry and thirsty. Replenish the moisture you've lost during winter by hydrating your skin in spring. If it's feeling extra dry, pick up a treatment like Hyalo Plasma from Perricone MD. Three forms of Hyaluronic Acid will keep your skin soft, healthy and protected from dryness.

2. Load up on SPF: It's easy to become overzealous about spending time outdoors when the weather is a perfect 70 degrees outside, but don't forget your SPF. If you'e forgetful with your sunscreen, look for moisturizers, lotions and makeup that already has a built in SPF. Don't neglect your precious pout, either. Keep a tube of Sun Bum lip balm handy to keep your lips soft and protected.

Time-Saving Beauty Tips To Help You Survive Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings time is this Sunday and if you're already yawning thinking about that lost hour of sleep, you're not alone. No one really looks forward to Daylight Savings and it can almost seem like it takes a whole week to adjust. If you're already not a morning person, it can be particularly challenging. This week, hit the snooze button and save some time with your beauty routine. Check out our time-saving beauty tips to survive that dreaded Monday.

1. Skip the A.M face cleanse: If you normally wash your face in the sink every morning, ditch your regular face wash and get your face cleansed and toned with a micellar cleanser instead. All you need to do is take a soaked cotton pad and run it along your face. 5 seconds and you're good to go!

2. Cocktail your foundation and skincare: Professional makeup artists use this method when they're pressed for time and it will be your go-to technique when you're in a rush, too. Simply mix a drop of your foundation with your moisturizer, serum or primer and go to town. You can also apply this technique when your skin is in dire need of a quick glow. Mix your foundation with a drop of liquid luminizer for a radiant, youthful finish.

3. Detangle your hair in the shower: Don't wait until you're out of the shower to get any knots out of your hair. Just have a wide tooth comb handy in the shower and get any tangles out while you let your conditioner or mask do its thing. To avoid friction or tangles, use a microfiber towel to wrap your tangle-free hair. This will also help you cut down on blowdrying, as well.

When It Comes to Volume, Redken has New Options

There isn't one way to style your hair with volume and this spring, Redken is giving you options when it comes to achieving sexy, volumized hair. Whether you're looking for bohemian, bouncy, beach waves or volume that defies gravity, you'll be set with Redken's newest line of products.

When we think about texture, it's normal to gravitate toward the styling aspect of our hair products. Redken is now making it easier to get amazing texture with their new Beach Envy Volume Texturizing Shampoo. Gone are the days where you could only achieve good texture with second day, dirty hair. This shampoo helps boost the texture and volume in your hair by gently cleansing your strands with the help of filloxane, polymers and minerals. These combined ingredients come together to give you easy texture, body and movement. To maintain volume and bounce, the Beach Envy Volume Texturizing Conditioner conditions your hair lightly with a gel-lotion formula that won't weigh your hair down. The same combination of ingredients as the shampoo keep your hair bouncy and ready for beauty waves.

To achieve those desired beach waves, Redken has a surprising new product that doesn't use salt to promote texture and grit. Wave Aid is a different kind of beach spray that is salt free and instead uses the power of a mineral blend to enhance texture and create waves. Use on damp hair and let air dry or use it before your curling iron for long-lasting waves and curls.

Quick Tips For Daily Flawless Makeup

Achieving a flawless makeup look on a daily basis might seem like quite the challenge, but it isn't impossible. I'm not talking about the kind of flawless we see on Instagram on a daily basis because let's face it--those artists have practice, hours and several studio lights and filters to help them get that one perfect selfie. I'm talking about everyday, fresh-faced looking makeup in 30 minutes or less. I'm talking about achievable flawlessness.

Your routine should always begin with prepping your skin. Whether you fully wash your face with a cleanser and water or opt for a micellar cleanser, you want to get your face cleansed and toned in the morning. Use a moisturizer or hydrator with an SPF to keep your skin hydrated and protected. Don't forget an under eye cream, too. Prepping your skin properly before makeup application will make it easier when you go to apply your makeup.

After you apply your primer of choice, the next thing you want to do is apply your foundation sparingly and blend, blend, blend. If you have blemishes or pigmentation you want to cover, apply your foundation in a patting motion. Using a beauty.blender sponge will make applying your makeup on a lot easier and faster. Once you've blended your foundation into your skin, you can go back with concealer and cover any areas you feel still need to conceal. When concealing your eyes, make sure the shade isn't too light (this will avoid obvious circles or ashiness on dark under eye areas) and apply your concealer in an upside down triangle shape. This will avoid drawing negative attention toward your eyes and accentuating under eye bags.

Rose Quartz and Serenity: Pantone Colors to Inspire You

Pantone has chosen their color of the year, except for 2016, they've chosen TWO colors. This year, Pantone is giving us two colors: Rose Quartz (pale pink) and Serenity (soft blue). The inspiration comes from the idea of balancing warm rose tones with cool tranquil blues. This balance is both gender-blending and harmonious, so get ready to see it everywhere this spring. If you're looking to be inspired by Pantone's colors, check out some of our favorites.

Rose Quartz Inspiration

1. OPI Infinite Shine You're Blushing Again: This lovely pink is a great shade for everyday and it'll will stay on longer with the Infinite Shine 3 Step System.

2. OPI Suzi Nails New Orleans: A brighter shade of pink, this pink is perfect for anyone who can't get too pale with their nails.

3. Deborah Lippmann Candy Girl: Part of Deborah Lippmann's Limited Edition Sweets for my Sweet collection, this is one baby pink we can't take our eyes off.

4. Stila Rose Quartz Jewel Eyeshadow: It has the perfect name. It's pretty. It's shimmery. You're going to wear this summer through spring.

Beauty Essentials for Every Snow Bunny

If you're planning on hitting the slopes this season, then you're going to need more than just your ski gear. Planet Beauty has all the beauty essentials you need to keep your skin and hair happy all weekend long. The next time you plan a trip, don't leave home without these must-haves!

1. CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40: Don't be fall victim to a winter sunburn and keep your skin protected with this customer favorite from CoTZ Skin Care. More importantly, make sure to reapply as needed. The high altitude and reflection of UV rays on the snow are the perfect recipe for disaster if you don't protect your skin. The natural tone of this sunscreen evens out your skin tone and reduces the appearance of redness in your face, too.

2. jane iredale LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm: Avoid dry, chapped lips and protect your lips against sunburn with this top-seller from jane iredale. A blend of waxes and oils smooth, soften and protect your lips from getting dry. Carrot and Avocado oils provide antioxidant protection, as well. Unlike balms that seem to sit on top of your lips, this one melts right into them for maximum moisture.

Weatherproof your beauty routine for Rainy Days

It looks like El Nino has finally hit and the much-needed rain is here! Next to figuring out how to rotate your wardrobe to accommodate the wet weather, you'll also want to to weather-proof your hair and makeup for all-day looks that won't melt down your face. To keep the rain from cramping your style, check out our tips for looking your best.

1. Waterproof your eyes: While you may have your umbrella, sometimes weather has a mind of its own. The wind can cause rain to go in all directions, including horizontal and straight into your face. Don't get caught with raccoon eyes and wear weatherproof mascara and eyeliner. If the mascara you love isn't a waterproof formula, try bareMinerals Locked and Coated Lash Top Coat. Simply run the fine bristle-brush over your mascara application and your lashes will be sealed and protected from water. Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner will stay in place all day long, as well. You don't have to forgo lining your eyes on rainy days.

2. Go easy on the foundation: The high humidity and rain doesn't always pair up well with a heavy foundation. It can look extra thick, giving your skin an unwanted caked look. Use something a little lighter like a BB cream and blend your concealer carefully on unwanted blemishes and imperfections. Set your makeup with a matte powder like jane iredale's Beyond Matte in Translucent to keep your face makeup in place all day long.

Kick off 2016 With These Six Beauty Resolutions!

With 2016 right around the corner, it's natural to start thinking about those New Year's resolutions. If you're looking for some inspiration, I invite you to try these small and simple beauty resolutions that will give you a great start to the new year! Start them on the 1st or whenever you feel changing things up. You can make a resolution at any time throughout the year.

1. Shake up your beauty products: When it comes to our beauty routine, many of us are loyal to the brands and products we love. While you should always try to fix what isn't broken, you may be missing out on a product that could be working better for you. If the thought of buying a new product terrifies you, try asking for some samples first.

2. Upgrade your skincare regimen: Whenever I ask customers why they love the skincare they're using oftentimes, I'm told they love it because it doesn't bother their skin. Finding a non-irritating skincare line is great, but shouldn't you love it because it makes your skin look amazing? Don't settle for a skincare product that does the bare minimum. If you're going to invest in your skin, make sure it's actually giving you results you love.
