There’s a new eye shadow palette in town and it’s going to be your go-to for all your holiday looks! Rodial’s perfectly compact palette not only makes an amazing stocking stuffer, but fits perfectly in your makeup bag for on-the-go beauty. With six neutral shades ranging from matte to pearl finishes, you’ll be able to create a variety of looks without having to carry around tons of clutter. This is perfect for anyone who travels a lot and wants to minimize the amount of product in their bag.

Since we’re officially heading into the holiday season, it’s time to learn some classic eye shadow techniques that you’ll be able to easily recreate at home. We teamed up with Rodial’s national makeup artist Valerie Delgado to show you how to transition the popular cut crease to a holiday glam look. If you’ve never learned how to do an eye shadow cut crease, you’re missing out! The cut crease may look intimidating, but with a little patience, it’s a great look that makes your eyes really pop. This is one technique you're going to want to master for the holidays.

Sugar Skull Makeup You Can Recreate in 30 Minutes or Less!

Sugar skull makeup is super popular for Halloween and it seems like just about every makeup artist on Instagram is creating their own spin on it. If you’re anything like me, then you’ve undoubtedly spent countless hours on YouTube watching Halloween makeup transformations, wishing you could master the same level of skill and artistry. Unless you have zero life commitments and nothing but time, practicing your Halloween makeup skills isn’t going to be on your list of major priorities. (You’re probably still trying to master that winged liner, right?)

If you really don’t want to spend money on makeup you’re only going to use for one day or stress out over recreating a look that’s way out of your comfort zone, you can still create a Halloween look that looks fantastic and requires products you may already have in your makeup bag. We teamed up with one of our talented makeup artists to bring you looks that are easy to do and won’t take hours to perfect.

Smokey Lips Are The New Smokey Eye This Season

The smokey eye has always been a go-to classic beauty trend, especially during the fall and winter months. As the weather changes and cools, we look to those sultry, smokey eyes to warm us up. This season, we’re seeing a new trend that showed up on the fall 2016 runways: smoky lips! Taking the same concept for the smokey eye, this trend warms up and transforms any lip color of your choice by simply blending a darker grey or black lipstick over it. This trend is so easy, we just had to jump on board!

We thought we’d have a little fun creating our own smokey lips using three Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick shades that are already great for the fall season when worn alone: Coffee Run (A rich brown), Screen Queen (A burgundy wine) and Punked (Deep Grey Matte).

The first smokey lip we created was combining Coffee Run with Punked. We first applied Coffee Run on its own. Then, using a lip brush, we blended in a little bit of Punked for a smokey finish. The color, once blended, became sephia-toned in its appearance. Notice how the notes of grey made the lip color much more interesting and a little edgy.

Monochromatic Makeup Is One the Easiest Trends You Can Recreate

Sometimes, keeping up with the latest hot beauty trend can be a little silly. In a time where literally any video or photo has the potential to become viral, some beauty trends can really pick up steam online. From contouring with eating utensils to matching makeup looks to snack foods, there’s no telling what’s going to gain popularity on social media. Luckily, not all beauty trends are wacky and some are actually really easy to recreate and can be worn on a daily basis.

One of my favorite beauty trends of the moment is monochromatic makeup. If you’re unfamiliar with the monochromatic makeup trend, it basically consists of keeping the majority (if not all) of your eye, cheek and lip makeup within the same color scheme. Sounds pretty easy, right? Well, it really is! I particularly love this trend during the fall and winter months because it allows you to create some warmer makeup looks that really pop. It also doesn't require any special technique or practice. All you need to do is find your personal favorite colors and have fun creating your own monochromatic looks! This is also an ideal trend for anyone who's looking to use their favorite beauty products in multiple ways (e.g., lipstick as blush, blush as eye shadow, etc).

These days, there are so many products and techniques to help you achieve the perfect contour--from foundation to concealer sticks and bronzing powders, mastering the art can take a little bit of guesswork. If you’ve just about given up on the contouring trend out of frustration, then you haven’t tried the Pro Contour Palette from Frankie Rose Cosmetics. This beautifully pigmented and easy to use palette is making contouring so much easier. Whether you’re a novice or a master of makeup, this is one palette you’re gonna love.

The first step to achieving a perfect contour is prepping your face. Apply a small amount of Frankie Rose’s Prime Addiction and let it set for a minute or two. Using a beauty.blender sponge, apply your favorite Frankie Rose foundation and go back to cover any blemishes with your favorite Frankie Rose concealer. Once you’re done prepping your face, it’s time to get that Instagram-worthy contour!

Kiss Me Now, Kiss Me Later!

When you’re a busy woman on the go, chances are, you’ve got a full calendar on your hands. Between juggling your job, family life and social life, there’s probably little time to update and freshen up your look from location to location. Sure, you could run home and re-do your makeup if you’re going from work to a first date, but that’s just extra time you can’t be bothered with. One of the quickest ways to transform your makeup look from day to night is by simply changing up your lipstick. One of the best things about wearing lipstick is that it can make such a strong statement with little effort. On days when you’re not feeling your best, lipstick always has a way of making you look put together.

For a fresh-looking daytime look, a soft pink pout is the way to go. Smashbox's Cognac lipstick instantly enhances the natural color of the lip while adding a beautiful glossy finish. Notice how minimizing the amount of eyeshadow draws attention to Vanessa's gorgeous smile! This particular shade of lipstick. Cognac is also a great shade for an everyday professional look or that first date you've been looking forward to.

Master the No-Makeup Look With These Tips

Summer is right around the corner, which means it’s time to perfect the no-makeup look. This isn’t always easy to do, as it requires the right product, a super light hand and plenty of blending. If you can’t imagine walking out the door makeup-free, but still want to look more on the natural side, then check out some tips for achieving a beautiful, no-makeup look.

Prepping your skin: I believe in being dedicated when it comes to your daily skincare routine, but this is particularly important during the spring and summer months. Since the weather is warmer and you tend to perspire a little more, the last thing you want to do is neglect your skin and get lazy with removing your makeup at the end of the night. Since no-makeup looks work best with sheer makeup, you want to make sure exfoliate and hydrate your skin on a regular basis. The better your skin looks, the less you’ll feel the need to cover up.

Use a BB cream or cocktail your products: BB creams are great for getting that no-makeup look, but if you have a foundation already on hand, simply cocktail a tiny bit with your daytime moisturizer. Doing this will give you lighter coverage with a natural, dewy finish.

Lightly groom your brows:  If the majority of your time is spent grooming and shading in your brows, then you’ll love the no-makeup look. Simply brush your eyebrows upwards with an eyebrow gel and lightly shade or pencil in any sparse areas. Going light-handed with whatever brow product you choose is really important.

4 Nochella Beauty Party Ideas To Try This Weekend

If you’re feeling bummed about missing out on Coachella, then invite your friends over this weekend for a Nochella Pamper Party! Sure, watching live bands out in the desert is fun, but you can still stream some of the shows from the comfort of your couch while you party with your friends. This weekend, call your girls, drink some wine and indulge in some of our favorite pampering ideas!

Create a facial station: Set your table up with a few bowls, small towels, disposable spatulas or facial brushes and your favorite mask. Have a few handheld mirrors handy, too. Give your girls the treat of a multi-purpose mask like GLAMGLOW’S Youthmud. You’ll get all the benefits of a mask and the power of a little exfoliation, as well. If you’re looking for less mess and stress, you can also opt for sheet masks. Tony Moly has a wonderful variety of masks to choose from and they’re budget-friendly, too.

Put together a nail station: You’ll want a few small bowls, nail polish remover, Q-tips, cotton pads, cuticle oil, hand cream and of course, an assortment of nail polish to choose from. You can also make this a bring-your-own-polish party if your friends are particular about their shades. If you really want to shake things up, make it a nail art party and get a little artsy with your manicures. For some inspiration, visit Essie’s nail looks page.

Getting married? Check out our Bridal Beauty Checklist

It’s the start of wedding season and if you’ve recently gotten engaged, then you know how much work goes into planning. With endless appointments for venues, catering, music and of course—the dress, wedding planning can be a tad stressful. Having a beauty checklist for your big day can help ease some of the stress to make sure you look your best and have one less thing to worry about.

1. Keep your hair trimmed: Even if you plan on wearing an updo for your wedding day, you don’t want to risk having dry, split ends making your hair look frayed and unhealthy. Visit your salon every 6-8 weeks and get those ends trimmed. If you’re trying to grow your hair out, this will help the process along, too. Ask your stylist about hair treatments that will help your hair look its best.

2. Leave your brows to the professionals:  For the next year, months or weeks, put the tweezers down and leave your brows to a trusted professional. We have all committed eyebrow mistakes and the last thing you need in your life is a little “oops” days before your wedding.  Also, if you plan to try a new method of hair removal, do it weeks in advance in case it doesn’t agree with your delicate skin. No need for redness or breakouts on your big day.

3. Keep consistent nail appointments: This one’s mainly for your own relaxation, but it’s also good to have someone professional watching out for your nails, cuticles and unwanted calluses. You don’t want to run off to your honeymoon with rough feet, right?

Time-Saving Beauty Tips To Help You Survive Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings time is this Sunday and if you're already yawning thinking about that lost hour of sleep, you're not alone. No one really looks forward to Daylight Savings and it can almost seem like it takes a whole week to adjust. If you're already not a morning person, it can be particularly challenging. This week, hit the snooze button and save some time with your beauty routine. Check out our time-saving beauty tips to survive that dreaded Monday.

1. Skip the A.M face cleanse: If you normally wash your face in the sink every morning, ditch your regular face wash and get your face cleansed and toned with a micellar cleanser instead. All you need to do is take a soaked cotton pad and run it along your face. 5 seconds and you're good to go!

2. Cocktail your foundation and skincare: Professional makeup artists use this method when they're pressed for time and it will be your go-to technique when you're in a rush, too. Simply mix a drop of your foundation with your moisturizer, serum or primer and go to town. You can also apply this technique when your skin is in dire need of a quick glow. Mix your foundation with a drop of liquid luminizer for a radiant, youthful finish.

3. Detangle your hair in the shower: Don't wait until you're out of the shower to get any knots out of your hair. Just have a wide tooth comb handy in the shower and get any tangles out while you let your conditioner or mask do its thing. To avoid friction or tangles, use a microfiber towel to wrap your tangle-free hair. This will also help you cut down on blowdrying, as well.
