The Season's Changed and so should your Skincare Routine

If you've noticed a change in your skin the last couple of weeks, you're not alone. The weather is slowly warming up with the changing season and that means it's time to re-evaluate your skincare products. Are you ready to spring clean your skincare routine? Follow these tips to keep your skin looking healthy.

1. Keep your skin hydrated and happy: When it's cold out, we tend to crank up the heat, causing our skin to feel dry and thirsty. Replenish the moisture you've lost during winter by hydrating your skin in spring. If it's feeling extra dry, pick up a treatment like Hyalo Plasma from Perricone MD. Three forms of Hyaluronic Acid will keep your skin soft, healthy and protected from dryness.

2. Load up on SPF: It's easy to become overzealous about spending time outdoors when the weather is a perfect 70 degrees outside, but don't forget your SPF. If you'e forgetful with your sunscreen, look for moisturizers, lotions and makeup that already has a built in SPF. Don't neglect your precious pout, either. Keep a tube of Sun Bum lip balm handy to keep your lips soft and protected.

Beauty Essentials for Every Snow Bunny

If you're planning on hitting the slopes this season, then you're going to need more than just your ski gear. Planet Beauty has all the beauty essentials you need to keep your skin and hair happy all weekend long. The next time you plan a trip, don't leave home without these must-haves!

1. CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40: Don't be fall victim to a winter sunburn and keep your skin protected with this customer favorite from CoTZ Skin Care. More importantly, make sure to reapply as needed. The high altitude and reflection of UV rays on the snow are the perfect recipe for disaster if you don't protect your skin. The natural tone of this sunscreen evens out your skin tone and reduces the appearance of redness in your face, too.

2. jane iredale LipDrink SPF 15 Lip Balm: Avoid dry, chapped lips and protect your lips against sunburn with this top-seller from jane iredale. A blend of waxes and oils smooth, soften and protect your lips from getting dry. Carrot and Avocado oils provide antioxidant protection, as well. Unlike balms that seem to sit on top of your lips, this one melts right into them for maximum moisture.

Keep Your Skin Glowing in Dry, Cold Weather

When it's dry and windy out, your skin can lose its luminous glow. You may notice your regular makeup flaking or looking patchy and heavy on your face. If you're already taking preventative steps to keep your skin from becoming dehydrated, you're on the right track. If you want your makeup to look gorgeous and dewy, then consider the following tips for a winter glow.

1. Steer clear of matte finish foundation products: To create a lovely, dewy canvas, choose a foundation that is sheer or medium coverage. Dr. Perricone's No Foundation Foundation is one of my favorite products to recommend for winter skin because it gives a beautiful radiance with a dewy finish. Redness and blotchiness is immediately blurred away for a natural look you'll love. It also contains a non-chemical SPF 30, which is always a plus.

2. Seek the help of highlighter: Get a healthy-looking glow with the help of a liquid luminizer. Stila's All Over Shimmer is a must-have for those winter skin blues. It immediately enhances the look of your skin with soft-focus pigments. Wear this product alone or mix it into your foundation or moisturizer for an instant brightening effect.

3. Go easy under your eyes: One of the places we notice dryness in our skin is right under our eyes. If you're battling dryness and crepiness, you'll want to use a good eye cream. Aside from doing that, you'll also want to minimize the use of heavy under eye concealers. The Stroke of Light Eye Brighteners from bareMinerals are great to use during this time of the year because they provide instant radiance without drawing attention to fine lines and wrinkles.

The Tinted Moisturizer We've All Been Waiting For

When I first fell in love with Dr. Perricone skincare, my go-to products were Face Finishing Moisturizer and No Foundation Foundation. To this day, they are the products I recommend the most to customers because of how well they both work on most skin types. On my more hurried days, I've come to cocktail both products for quick application, but there's a new product that's been taking over my cabinet space. Face Finishing Moisturizer Tint is coming to Planet Beauty soon and I am excited to add this product to my top recommendations.

At first glance, the moisturizer itself seems to have a pinkish tone with microscopic specks of brown. It wasn't what I expected when I first heard that Perricone would be releasing a tinted moisturizer. Like other tinted moisturizers, I assumed it would have a specific shade or shades, but I was curious to try it. After obtaining a sample, I was excited to try it on my skin. As I applied it to my freshly cleansed and toned skin, I noticed an almost instant radiance. As far as consistency goes, it was lightweight and easy to apply. It almost felt similar to Photo Plasma, which I also love. After walking away for a few seconds and looking in the mirror again, I noticed my skin looked more even and radiant. I should share that the coverage is very minimal, so rest easy, my au naturel friends. If you're like me and like more coverage, you can still layer this with No Foundation Foundation and your makeup of choice.

Blue Plasma Cleansing Treatment: New from Perricone

There's a new cleansing treatment in town and it's going to change the way you think about cleansing on the go. If you travel a lot, or you love getting that A.M daily workout, then you know how hard it can be to get a good, quick cleanse that leaves your skin feeling fresh. No-rinse cleansers can be extremely convenient for the person constantly on the go. Dr. Perricone's Blue Plasma Cleansing Treatment offers convenience, but also gives your skin a gentle exfoliation and amazing glow.

When I first heard there was going to be another Blue Plasma product, I was so excited. The Blue Plasma treatment is a product I'm always recommending and personally use, as well. If you're currently using the Blue Plasma treatment, you'll want to add this to your skincare regimen. I recently tried a sample and was impressed with how well it removed my makeup without drying my face.

5 Products with Hyaluronic Acid That Work Wonders

There are many ingredients people look for when they're on the hunt for a great skincare product to try. Vitamin C, Retinol, Vitamin E and Shea Butter are just a few of the ingredients that seem to be popular with skin care customers. Lately, Hyaluronic Acid has been on top of the list and it really doesn't come as a surprise. With the shift in weather during this time of year, skin can feel a little dry and lifeless. Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that draws water to skin and helps prevent moisture loss, helping skin feel smooth and hydrated. Products that contain Hyaluronic Acid can also help hydrate exisiting fine lines to make them look less noticeable. One of the most appealing things about this wonderful ingredient is that it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, so even those with oily skin types can benefit from it. If you've been looking for products that contain Hyaluronic Acid, check out some of our favorites.

1. Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Night Cream: Part of the Dragon's Blood range, this night cream works diligently to target visible signs of aging while you sleep. Microinjected Hyaluronic Acid smoothes and hydrates the skin, restoring radiancy and youthfulness. Brightening Retinol Technology works to improve skin tone for a healthy, even complexion.

My Favorite Beauty Products of 2014

As the end of 2014 is swiftly approaching, I can't help but reflect on all the wonderful beauty products I fell in love with this year. Customers often ask me what products I love and when that happens, I often get flustered in my answer because it's hard to pick just one or two favorites. Even now it's a toss-up between many products, but because I love lists, I give you a list of my 2014 favorites.

Favorite Face Mask: Dr. Perricone's Chloro Plasma
Nothing makes me happier than my weekly facial ritual of wearing a mask. For a long time, I loved any mask I was able to peel off. It gave me a sense of satisfaction, as if I was getting rid of all this gunk. Surprisingly enough, my favorite face mask does not peel. Dr. Perricone's Chloro Plasma exceeded all my expectations this year. It smells like a day at the spa, does not dry my face and leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and sensationally smooth.

Favorite Sunscreen: CoTZ
What's better than a non-chemical sunscreen? How about a sunscreen that protects your beautiful skin AND makes an amazing primer before foundation? Anything that makes my skin look impeccable is always a winner in my book. The tinted formula makes my skin look smooth and even, which is perfect for a day of errands.

Favorite Hand Cream: Ahava's Dermud Hand Cream:
Handling money with cash transactions makes me constantly feel the need to wash and sanitize my hands, so they can get pretty dry and irritated. Ahava's Dermud Hand cream is so healing on my skin that my hands feel instantly soothed and soft after just one application.

Moisturizers for Dry, Winter Skin

Winter is officially here and that means it may be time for a new moisturizer. The cool weather can leave skin feeling sensitized, while the use of heaters can leave your skin dry, causing it to feel parched and itchy. Feeling skin discomfort can be common this during this time of the year, especially if you live in an area that snows. If you've been thinking of updating your beauty regimen, then check out some of our favorite moisturizers to soothe dry skin.

As a dedicated  Dr. Perricone skincare user, I find that all of the moisturizers in the line are nourishing, however, the one I recommend the most this time of the year is Deep Moisture Therapy. Anyone with dry, flaky skin will appreciate the antioxidants and nutrients this moisturizer has to offer. Tocotrienols (potent form of Vitamin E), Vitamin C Ester and a mix of Borage Seed, Coconut and Palm Oils help to instantly relieve skin, leaving it soft and supple with a velvety finish.

Dermalogica's Age Smart Super Rich Repair also relieves dry skin with moisturizing and healing ingredients like Jojoba Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Evening Primrose Oil and Collodial Oatmeal. A great nighttime moisturizer, this heavy duty cream can also be used as a protective salve before going out in less than pleasant weather conditions. A customer favorite, this moisturizer is a must-try.
