Gypsy Makeup Inspired by MUA Brookelle McKenzie

We’ve been on Halloween makeup watch on Instagram and we are loving all the amazing looks and tutorials some of our favorite makeup artists and social media influencers are creating! While it’s hard to pick just one look we love the most, we can’t stop obsessing over Brookelle McKenzie’s gypsy makeup on Instagram: @bybrookelle.

Whenever there’s an opportunity for a smoky eye, we’re not going to pass it up. A smoky eye is typically reserved for nights and weekends but since it’s Halloween, we’re going to make the exception! Besides, this is one look you’ll want to save and recreate again just for fun. To put together our gypsy Halloween look, we used a variety of products from Stila Cosmetics, Smashbox Cosmetics, Gorgeous Cosmetics and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

Try Our Simple Spin On Harley Quinn!

With the release of Suicide Squad earlier this year, the Harley Quinn character has been front and center for Halloween costume choices! The edgy, devious character is open to many different interpretations and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put our own spin on it. Since comic book characters evolve in their appearances, there really isn’t one way to go about your look! As with our Sugar Skull Halloween look, we used everyday makeup to create our perfect Harley Quinn look. Check it out!

Nude Makeup Is The Hottest Red Carpet Trend Right Now

The MTV Video Music Awards were this past Sunday and it's official---Nudes are IN! (Nude makeup, that is!) This Sunday, the Red Carpet was flooded with bold outfit choices and sultry, nude makeup that focused on the eyes and lips. Where daring choices are normally applauded at the VMAs, this week proved that nude makeup can make a smoldering statement when it comes to beauty. We narrowed down our favorite looks from the 2016 VMAs and picked our favorite beauty products to recreate the gorgeousness from home.

We loved everything about Hailey Baldwin's look at the VMAs. Her smokey bronzed eye and textured messy lob paired perfectly with her see-through jumpsuit. To create her tousled tresses, we love Matrix's Mess Maker from their Style Link Series. This lightweight sea salt spray gives the right amount of hold and texture without making the hair look dirty or matted. To copy her bronzed smokey eye, our go to product is Smashbox's versatile eyeshadow trio in Screenshot. Complete her look with the new Gen Nude Lipstick from bareMinerals in XOX. This dusty rose shade will give you a medium wash of color, while leaving your lips moisturized and ready to conquer the day.

Gorgeous Green Beauty Picks for St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day is just a few days away and if you're looking for some fun ways to wear your green, we've got you covered! Green is a great color for spring and Planet Beauty has some gorgeous options for you to incorporate this gorgeous shade into your makeup and nail routine.

1. Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow in Quick Take: You don't have to wear neon green on St. Patrick's Day to make a statement. This little trio comes with three beautiful shades that compliment each other perfectly. Vanilla, Ambient and Serpent can be used seamlessly together to create day to night looks for any occasion. Subtle on the shimmer, this eye shadow trio is ideal for everyone.

2. bareMinerals Soiree Eye Shadow: This shimmer shadow is the shade of dark, golden spruce for eye color with a little dimension on its own. This loose shadow packs a lot of pigment, so a little goes a long way. Use a brown or bronzed liner to make your eyes pop.

8 Beauty Picks That Will Get You Excited for Spring

Spring is right around the corner, so get ready to kiss those winter blues away for good. Pack away those heavy sweaters and winter coats and make room in your closet for those pretty sundresses and light cardigans, instead. If you're looking for some beauty picks to get you excited for spring, then you've come to the right place. Check out some of our spring must-haves to keep you looking fabulous this season.

1. Sun Bum Sunless Tanning Towelettes: Sun Bum doesn't necessarily market to people who dislike being in the sun, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that they now have a healthier alternative to achieving a California tan. These easy-to-use towelettes are infused with Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5 to moisturize the skin with each application. The scent is light and reminiscent of summer days. The best part about these towelettes is that they're vegan, gluten-free and paraben-free.

2. Clean Cool Cotton Eau de Parfum: If you're on the search for a lovely spring fragrance, it doesn't get much better than Clean's Cool Cotton. This perfume has everything you want in a spring fragrance. It's light with beautiful notes of bergoment interwoven with fresh mandarin, lemon zest, crisp green apple, fresh mint, cotton and peach. Subtle creamy musks and amber give this scent a lovely, feminine touch. You'll seriously be the breath of fresh air that walks into every room.

Weatherproof your beauty routine for Rainy Days

It looks like El Nino has finally hit and the much-needed rain is here! Next to figuring out how to rotate your wardrobe to accommodate the wet weather, you'll also want to to weather-proof your hair and makeup for all-day looks that won't melt down your face. To keep the rain from cramping your style, check out our tips for looking your best.

1. Waterproof your eyes: While you may have your umbrella, sometimes weather has a mind of its own. The wind can cause rain to go in all directions, including horizontal and straight into your face. Don't get caught with raccoon eyes and wear weatherproof mascara and eyeliner. If the mascara you love isn't a waterproof formula, try bareMinerals Locked and Coated Lash Top Coat. Simply run the fine bristle-brush over your mascara application and your lashes will be sealed and protected from water. Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner will stay in place all day long, as well. You don't have to forgo lining your eyes on rainy days.

2. Go easy on the foundation: The high humidity and rain doesn't always pair up well with a heavy foundation. It can look extra thick, giving your skin an unwanted caked look. Use something a little lighter like a BB cream and blend your concealer carefully on unwanted blemishes and imperfections. Set your makeup with a matte powder like jane iredale's Beyond Matte in Translucent to keep your face makeup in place all day long.

Keep Your Skin Glowing in Dry, Cold Weather

When it's dry and windy out, your skin can lose its luminous glow. You may notice your regular makeup flaking or looking patchy and heavy on your face. If you're already taking preventative steps to keep your skin from becoming dehydrated, you're on the right track. If you want your makeup to look gorgeous and dewy, then consider the following tips for a winter glow.

1. Steer clear of matte finish foundation products: To create a lovely, dewy canvas, choose a foundation that is sheer or medium coverage. Dr. Perricone's No Foundation Foundation is one of my favorite products to recommend for winter skin because it gives a beautiful radiance with a dewy finish. Redness and blotchiness is immediately blurred away for a natural look you'll love. It also contains a non-chemical SPF 30, which is always a plus.

2. Seek the help of highlighter: Get a healthy-looking glow with the help of a liquid luminizer. Stila's All Over Shimmer is a must-have for those winter skin blues. It immediately enhances the look of your skin with soft-focus pigments. Wear this product alone or mix it into your foundation or moisturizer for an instant brightening effect.

3. Go easy under your eyes: One of the places we notice dryness in our skin is right under our eyes. If you're battling dryness and crepiness, you'll want to use a good eye cream. Aside from doing that, you'll also want to minimize the use of heavy under eye concealers. The Stroke of Light Eye Brighteners from bareMinerals are great to use during this time of the year because they provide instant radiance without drawing attention to fine lines and wrinkles.
