Master the No-Makeup Look With These Tips

Summer is right around the corner, which means it’s time to perfect the no-makeup look. This isn’t always easy to do, as it requires the right product, a super light hand and plenty of blending. If you can’t imagine walking out the door makeup-free, but still want to look more on the natural side, then check out some tips for achieving a beautiful, no-makeup look.

Prepping your skin: I believe in being dedicated when it comes to your daily skincare routine, but this is particularly important during the spring and summer months. Since the weather is warmer and you tend to perspire a little more, the last thing you want to do is neglect your skin and get lazy with removing your makeup at the end of the night. Since no-makeup looks work best with sheer makeup, you want to make sure exfoliate and hydrate your skin on a regular basis. The better your skin looks, the less you’ll feel the need to cover up.

Use a BB cream or cocktail your products: BB creams are great for getting that no-makeup look, but if you have a foundation already on hand, simply cocktail a tiny bit with your daytime moisturizer. Doing this will give you lighter coverage with a natural, dewy finish.

Lightly groom your brows:  If the majority of your time is spent grooming and shading in your brows, then you’ll love the no-makeup look. Simply brush your eyebrows upwards with an eyebrow gel and lightly shade or pencil in any sparse areas. Going light-handed with whatever brow product you choose is really important.

Steer away from powdered blush: When it comes to no-makeup looks, a cream blush is the best way to go. Use your fingers to tap the blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend into your skin so you achieve a natural, flushed look. If you want a little bronzer, choose a liquid formula, as well and use a beauty.blender to create a seamless, bronzed appearance.

Master the just-bitten lip: Rather than applying a lipstick directly from the tube, use your fingers to tap a little color onto your lips. (You can also use your cream blush.) This will diffuse the color and give your pout a just-bitten appearance that looks completely natural.

Use natural-toned, matte eye shadows and curl your lashes:  Getting the right no-makeup look also depends greatly on your eyes, too. Opting for nude and natural tones will look the most flawless. Curling your lashes will also open your eyes, making you look awake, refreshed and ready to go.
